Seen on eBay: a teapot, coffee pot, and jug similar to some I already own.

Missed out on this coffee set. In fact, what I was really interested in were the coffee cups (slightly taller than a tea cup from the set), and the bowl. Both of these are new to me.

I already have one of the small coffee pots with the everted rim, and a milk jug in that size.

Another small milk jug missed, but I think it's one I already have.

I already have a small jug in this size, with the same straight rim.

Received the jug I bought recently.

• Acquired a slightly larger pitcher from eBay, in the high-rimmed style as with the other pitcher.

Acquired a pitcher that I believe is dissimilar to the others I own.

An interesting jug I missed from a German auction site, possibly 15 December 2006.

It sold for 60 Euros.

Mettlach-Kakaokanne. Steingut, grüner Hermes-Stempel, Dekor 8202.Kugelig gebaucht, Deckel mit Kugelknauf und anmodelliertem Sieb.Auf cremeweißer Glasur blau-weinrotes Karo-Dekor mit schwarzenKreuzungspunkten. H 21 cm. ABB.B 126

It seems that the character on Villeroy & Boch's stamp is Hermes. I didn't realise that: he wears a winged cap and carries a caduceus.

Jug 1

I currently have two jugs of this kind, with slight variations:

• both jugs have a base of about 80 mm
• both have a mouth about 100 mm wide with a spout at the front
• both have a maximum diameter of about 130 - 140 mm
• one has an everted lip, the other an inverted lip
• the jug with the inverted lip is slightly higher than the other, and its handle is attached to the rim, rather than below the rim
• both were made in French Saar.

Received the jug mentioned in a previous post.

Acquired a great haul from eBay! (45 euros)

Hallo,

Pictures from eBay of a jug and platter. The owner won't ship to Australia which isn't so bad as I think I already have the jug. Sold for 8.52 euros.

Update: a rough translation of the measurements reveals that the jug is the same as the one I just bought.

My jug arrived today! Collected it from the Post Office on the way home from work.

Pictures from eBay of a small jug I acquired today.

Someone in New Zealand sold a lot of pattern 8202 late last year:

• 2 oval platters
• Large Jug
• Tea Pot
• Butter Dish and Lid
• Small Bowl
• Egg Cup

Missed a jug on eBay.

My mother says she acquired five mixing bowls and two jugs from Grainger and Faulkner, Singleton, in 1956. One of the bowls broke, the second smallest.

These are all in the same pattern, a plaid design, and were made by Villeroy & Boch. The bases are stamped with the company name, the word Mettlach, and say they were made in France-Saar Economic Union.

I want to acquire the rest of this set.

I'll post some pictures of what I have when I get the chance.
